have a listen

now that i have high-speed internet access, i have finally been able to post some of my songs on a purevolume site. go here to check it out, or click the link on the sidebar. let me know what you think of them. i need honest feedback. unfortunately i can only put four songs on the site unless i pay, but i'm too cheap at this point, so i may revolve the songs i have there...we'll see. also, i do not have any recordings of the songs whose lyrics i have posted on this blog as of yet. anyway, have a listen and come back to tell me what you think, keeping in mind these are rough recordings.

hey,
I downloaded your songs onto our computer and my sister has them on her ipod. There really good. Good luck with your cd. (let me know if I can help with any $) I don't know how much you need or if any contribution on my part would help at all, but I'd like to if I can.

P.S. Congrats on the baby!!!! Somehow I must have been in another world when my mom told me the first time, cause I just found out when I was looking at you blog.

I'm still hurting from the punch. So take that!

*charlie horse*

Where have you been?! I have been blogging for almost 2 months now. The Current Album of Choice thing is easy. Just go to your template, copy the code for one of the other menu items and paste in the order you want it. Then change the title and link info to say what you want. Clear as mud? I have also updated my feature to include a picture. You should check it out!

If you play nice, I'll tell you how I did that too.

uh...i'd have to say that charlie horse is a lame comeback to punch in the groin. morgan, the correct response was, *ripping navel vice-grips.*

brando, i am impressed by your catchy, but sophisticated tunes. i like your guitar style, too. the lyrics i find surprising--as in the opposite of trite or boring. the vocals are the weakest part, for me...have you been taking lessons or thought about it?

that should say, "ripping open navel with vice-grips"

hey, thanks for listening all.
travis, cool!
morgan, we'll see...we'll see.
anonymous (bws) whose blog are you on? did you listen to my songs or not? ;)
ap, thanks for the honest feedback. the vocals are the weakest part in my opinion as well.. i have thought about taking lessons but haven't squirreled away the time or money yet to do it. maybe i should look into it... in other news, i am glad you find my lyrics worthy. i try to make them reflect my life experiences, yet remain poetic and accessible.

Hey Brando. I like your style. Not sure if you have other people you jam with or not but I think it would be good to add other stuff (instruments) for color. Your voice is the weakest as ap has said, but I think there is definately potential for growth there. I think you have the goods...just need some polish. A few years back, I didn't think Chris Stevens could sing either and now his band is doing pretty good... Did you write all the lyrics...I think they are intriguing and make me think... There is something there! Keep pressing on!
